#GirlBoss Sophia Amoruso Empowers Aspiring Female Entrepreneurs at Glam University’s Girl Power Sleepover

Atlanta, GA. 11 January 2016 – This past Saturday, Sophia Amoruso, New York Times Best-Selling Author of #GirlBoss and Founder of popular fashion retailer Nasty Gal, was the keynote speaker and special guest at the third installment of Glam University’s ‘Girl Power Sleepover’. This event is an overnight business boot camp, focused on educating and empowering women in a more relatable way. Held at Atlanta’s popular W Hotel downtown, female entrepreneurs from across the country joined together to learn valuable business advice, strategies and tips from some of today’s powerhouse women in business.

MUNSON STEED & KAREN CIVIL

Sabrina Peterson, Founder of Glam University, kicked off the Girl Power Sleepover with her Business A-Z and Flip classes, followed by numerous sessions including a Branding 101 class hosted by media maven Karen Civil, Rollingout CEO Munson Steed and Michelle Alexander of General Motors, a breakout class with New York Times best selling author & movie producer Zane and Mahisha Dillenger CURLS CEO taught a breakout class on “From taking your product from the kitchen to mainstream stores.” Between the educational aspects, numerous lifestyle activations were held including the WETBAR lounge area presented by MillerCoors and the Design Essentials Suite with photo-booth and fun. This event truly inspired attendees to network; My Fair Sweets CEO & Girl Power Sleepover Expert states, “With whom you assemble, you will soon resemble.”

SOPHIA AMORUSO & SABRINA PETERSON

The highlight of the evening was an intimate Q&A with New York Times best selling author of #GirlBoss and Nasty Gal Founder – Sophia Amoruso. This hour-long segment moderated by Sabrina Peterson, went into depths of Sophia’s journey from an aspiring entrepreneur to a multi-million dollar cultural icon. Sophia shared her personal marketing tips, various books and videos to read for financial and business insight, the do’s & don’ts of venture capitalism and more with the audience. Proceeding her panel, Sophia was thanked and formally welcomed to the city of Atlanta by Sarah Elizabeth Reed – wife of Mayor Kasim Reed and the city of Atlanta’s First Lady. Sarah noted Amoruso & Peterson to be “an inspiration to all, showcasing the true definition of beauty and business.”

The evening wrapped with a private dinner for the event experts and then pajamas and a movie with all experts and guests. “The Girl Power Sleepover was an amazing and impactful event.
